Welcome to Amivo, an AI mental health companion application provided by therapyamigo. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Amivo mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using Amivo, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and therapyamigo.

Description of Service
Amivo is an AI-powered mental health companion application designed to provide support, guidance, and resources for mental wellness. The Service uses artificial intelligence and Large Language Model (LLM) technology to engage in conversations, provide mental health information, and offer personalized support.
Important Disclaimer:
Amivo is an AI mental health companion and is NOT a replacement for professional mental health services. Amivo does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, therapy, or professional counseling services. The Service is not intended to replace, substitute, or serve as an alternative to professional mental health care provided by licensed psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors, therapists, or other qualified healthcare professionals.
The Service may include features such as:
- AI-powered chat conversations for mental health support
- Personalized mental health resources and information
- Mood tracking and wellness assessments
- Mindfulness and meditation content
- Educational content about mental health topics
therapyamigo reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time, with or without notice.
User Accounts and Responsibilities
1. Account Creation
To use certain features of Amivo, you may be required to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.
2. Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your username and password. You agree to notify therapyamigo immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. You are solely responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
3. Age Requirements
You must be at least 13 years of age to use Amivo. If you are under 18 years of age, you represent that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the Service. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information without your consent, please contact us immediately.
4. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- All content you submit, post, or transmit through the Service
- Maintaining the security and confidentiality of your account
- Using the Service in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Seeking professional help when experiencing a mental health crisis
- Not relying solely on Amivo for mental health treatment or diagnosis
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Amivo only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any local, state, national, or international law
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, computer systems, or networks connected to the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers or networks connected to the Service
- Use the Service to transmit any viruses, malware, or other harmful code
- Impersonate any person or entity or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
- Harass, abuse, threaten, or harm other users or attempt to do so
- Collect or store personal data about other users without their express permission
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the Service without express written permission
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the Service
- Remove any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices from the Service
Violation of these acceptable use policies may result in immediate termination of your account and access to the Service, and may subject you to legal action.

1. Not a Replacement for Professional Care
Amivo is not a replacement for professional mental health services, including but not limited to:
- Licensed psychologists or psychiatrists
- Licensed professional counselors or therapists
- Clinical social workers
- Other qualified mental health professionals
- Emergency mental health services
2. No Medical Advice
The information, content, and responses provided by Amivo are for informational and supportive purposes only. They do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. You should not rely on Amivo as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
3. Emergency Situations
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, are thinking about suicide or self-harm, or are in crisis:
- Contact your local emergency services immediately (e.g., call 911 in the United States)
- Contact a crisis hotline (e.g., National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 988)
- Seek immediate help from a licensed mental health professional
- Go to your nearest emergency room
Amivo is not designed to handle emergency situations and should not be used as a substitute for emergency mental health services.
4. Limitations of AI Technology
Amivo uses artificial intelligence and Large Language Model technology. While we strive to provide helpful and accurate information, AI technology has limitations and may not always provide appropriate, accurate, or complete responses. The AI may not understand the full context of your situation and should not be relied upon for critical mental health decisions.
5. User Responsibility
You acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for your mental health decisions and for seeking appropriate professional care when needed. therapyamigo and Amivo are not responsible for any decisions you make based on information or interactions with the Service.
Intellectual Property
1. Ownership
The Service, including all content, features, functionality, software, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, and the design and arrangement thereof, is owned by therapyamigo, its licensors, or other providers of such material and is protected by copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
2. Limited License
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, therapyamigo grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use Amivo for your personal, non-commercial use. This license does not include any right to:
- Reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of the Service
- Use the Service for any commercial purpose
- Remove any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
3. User Content
You retain ownership of any content you submit, post, or transmit through the Service ("User Content"). However, by submitting User Content, you grant therapyamigo a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display such User Content for the purpose of providing and improving the Service, including for analytics and LLM training purposes (in anonymized and aggregated form).
4. Trademarks
The names "therapyamigo," "Amivo," and related logos and marks are trademarks of therapyamigo. You may not use these trademarks without our prior written permission.
Limitation of Liability
1. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR COURSE OF PERFORMANCE.
therapyamigo does not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- Defects will be corrected
- The Service is free of viruses or other harmful components
- The results obtained from using the Service will be accurate or reliable
2. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL therapyamigo, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:
- Your use or inability to use the Service
- Any conduct or content of third parties on the Service
- Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein
- Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the Service
- Any bugs, viruses, trojan horses, or the like that may be transmitted to or through the Service
- Any errors or omissions in any content or for any loss or damage incurred as a result of the use of any content posted, emailed, transmitted, or otherwise made available through the Service
3. Medical Liability Disclaimer
therapyamigo and Amivo are not liable for any mental health outcomes, decisions, or consequences resulting from your use of the Service. You acknowledge that Amivo is not a medical service and that you are solely responsible for seeking appropriate professional mental health care when needed.
4. Maximum Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, therapyamigo's TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO therapyamigo IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRIOR TO THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE LIABILITY, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Termination
1. Termination by You
You may terminate your account and stop using the Service at any time by deleting your account through the app settings or by contacting us at support@therapyamigo.com.
2. Termination by therapyamigo
therapyamigo may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Breach of these Terms
- Violation of applicable laws or regulations
- Fraudulent, harmful, or illegal activity
- Extended periods of inactivity
- At our sole discretion, for any other reason
3. Effect of Termination
Upon termination of your account:
- Your right to use the Service will immediately cease
- You may request deletion of your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy
- All provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability
Changes to Terms
therapyamigo reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
By continuing to access or use the Service after any revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account.
We will notify you of any material changes to these Terms through:

- In-app notifications
- Posting the updated Terms on our website
It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically for changes. Your continued use of the Service following the posting of any changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.
